For centuries the point of land between
the Loire, the Vienne and the Indre known as the Véron was something
of an enclave. Within a relatively small area a wide variety
of open spaces will delight walkers and fishermen.
0f particular interest is 'Les Hauts deBertignolles",
a remarkable botanical site with 285 recorded plant species
and an ideal spot for bird-watching.
Migrants such as cormorants, wild geese and woodcock, and nesting
birds (terns) can be observed,
as well as the grey heron, kestrel and hoopoe which are indigenous
to the heath or nearby wet zones.
The Natural Park proposes two guided paths in the villages of
Savigny-en-Véron and Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt.
Discover Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt, located in the heart of the national Forest of Chinon ...
